The Parenting Center and Rent Party’s 28th Annual Toy Drive is currently underway!

Each holiday season, our community comes together to support children across South Orange and Maplewood, and last year your generosity helped bring joy to more than 300 students. We’re hoping to do the same, and even more, this year. There are several easy ways to contribute:

Make an online donation:

Donate from the Wish List:
Choose a toy directly from the curated Amazon list.

Drop off a new toy:
Bring a new, unwrapped toy to any district elementary school drop box from November 19 through December 12.

Buy one, donate one:
Participating local businesses are offering simple ways to give while you shop.

Every contribution helps brighten the season for a child in our community. Thank you, as always, for showing up with kindness and care.

As we move through the school year, the district has asked everyone please take a few minutes to complete your annual student forms in the PowerSchool Parent Portal.

These forms help keep every student safe and supported. They include:

Emergency contacts and medical info
Photo/media permissions
Walking permission slips (elementary only)
Technology use agreements for district devices

Your updates ensure that the schools have accurate, up-to-date information to best care for your student. Please log in to PowerSchool (https://somsd.powerschool.com/public/) and complete the forms for each student as soon as possible.

Every contribution makes a difference and helps fund the incredible programs and events that enrich our students’ school experience.

Students—especially those in 6th grade—should use this time to meet with teachers, get comfortable with Canvas and PowerSchool, and practice key organizational skills. It’s also a great opportunity to set up lockers!
