Reporting Student Absence

There are a couple of ways you can report a student absent. Please include the following information regardless of how you report:

• Your child’s name, grade, your child's homeroom teacher's name and your name
• Day or dates your child will be absent
• The reason your child will be absent. If your child is absent due to illness, please indicate whether your child has a temperature of over 100 degrees.

1) Call the South Orange Middle School Main Office at 973-378-2772 and follow the prompts

2) Send an email on PowerSchool. Select- Forms - Attendance- Student Absence Notification.
