Step Out for SOMS – Walkathon 2025

We’re excited to announce the kickoff of our annual Walkathon on Tuesday, October 14, 2025!

Donation links will remain open through October 21, 2025.

Why it matters:
Step Out for SOMS is the HSA’s biggest fundraiser. Your support helps fund teacher grants, the musical, the library fund, diversity and inclusion events, socials, and so much more!

Event details:

• Students will walk through the SOMS neighborhood during the half-day morning.

• Expect a festive atmosphere with a DJ, prizes, and school spirit!

• Everyone walks, but students who register are eligible for raffle prizes.

How you can help:

Reminders

Conference Periods: 2:45 - 3:14

Students especially 6th grade students should use this time to meet with teachers, getting acclimated to Canvas, PowerSchool, and organizational skills. This is also a great time to set up lockers!

Student IDs

7th & 8th Grade students will begin getting their ID’s week of 9/15. As per the Superintendent’s email it is mandatory for all students and staff to wear them while in the building at all times. 6th Grade students will get ID's after picture Day (9/30)

Chromebooks

The IT dept has started distributing Chromebooks.  You must make a appt to pick them up.  You can sign up for an appointment for a Chromebook by clicking here.
